The Social Entrepreneurship Incubator of CIS-CIT La Estrella is a support, training and mentoring program aimed at individuals and entities that want to launch projects capable of generating a positive impact on the territory.
The objective is to help transform entrepreneurial ideas and initiatives into viable, sustainable projects capable of generating new opportunities, combining social and environmental impact with economic sustainability.
The incubator pays special attention to initiatives that provide new responses to the challenges of our environment: job creation, care services, housing, culture, digitalization, tourism, gastronomy, work-life balance, territorial management or any other activity capable of contributing to the development of our villages.
What is a social entrepreneurship incubator?
A social entrepreneurship incubator accompanies entrepreneurs during the first phases of developing an idea or project.
Through specialized training, advice and mentoring, we help analyze each proposal, define its business model, verify its viability, identify its needs and establish a roadmap to turn it into a real initiative.
It is not just about creating companies. It is about promoting projects capable of generating economic activity while responding to social, environmental or territorial needs.
What does La Estrella's Incubator offer?
Participating projects benefit from a personalized support pathway adapted to their stage of development that combines:
- Specialized training in entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact.
- Mentoring and personalized advice from professionals in different fields.
- Support in defining and validating the business model.
- Analysis of the economic and financial viability of the project.
- Tools to measure and enhance its social and environmental impact.
- Training in communication, marketing, technology and artificial intelligence applied to projects.
- Guidance to identify grants, subsidies and other funding routes.
- Support during the launch and consolidation process of the initiative.
The entire process has an eminently practical approach: each participant works on their own project and directly applies the knowledge acquired. A pathway to move from idea to project. The training program addresses the main questions that an initiative must resolve before launch: what need it wants to address, who it is aimed at, what value proposition it offers, how it can be sustained economically and what impact it wants to generate. To do this, innovation and project design methodologies are used that allow progress from the initial idea to the definition of a viable model. Training is complemented by individual and group mentoring and support sessions, so that each project can advance according to its own needs.
Who is it aimed at?
The incubator is aimed at entrepreneurs, teams, startups, associations, social entities and other organizations that have an idea or project with the capacity to generate a positive social, economic or environmental impact. It is not necessary to start with an already established company. An idea in an initial phase can also find in the incubator the necessary tools to analyze its potential and begin to develop. What matters is having a proposal and the will to turn it into a project linked to the territory.
Entrepreneurship from the territory
The Social Entrepreneurship Incubator is part of CIS-CIT La Estrella's commitment to promoting new opportunities from rural areas.
We want to contribute to good ideas being able to develop here, connecting talent, knowledge, support and resources to foster the creation of initiatives that generate employment, services, innovation and new opportunities.
Because innovating in our villages also means finding new responses to their needs and turning them into projects capable of building the future.
Calls for proposals
Participation in the incubator is structured through periodic calls for proposals in which the territorial scope, number of participating projects, timeline and specific conditions of each edition are established.

A Social Action project
The Social Entrepreneurship Incubator is an action framed within the project "Social and Digital Innovation as a response to depopulation", which is part of the Social Action in Rural Areas call - Addressing the Demographic Challenge to combat depopulation 2024 of La Caixa Foundation, which includes the launch of a social entrepreneurship incubator (hub) at the Social and Territorial Innovation Center "La Estrella".
This project has been presented by the Ciudad Rodrigo 2006 Foundation and is financed by La Caixa Foundation, with financial support from the local action groups ADECOCIR and ADEZOS. Other collaborating agents are the Provincial Council of Salamanca, the City Council of Ciudad Rodrigo, AFECIR, Red Cross Salamanca and ASPRODES group.
