The City Council of Ciudad Rodrigo continues to make progress in the development of the future Centro de Innovación Social (CIS) La Estrella, which will be located in the facilities of the town's former Health Centre. As part of the recently approved budget amendment, significant allocations have been included for the rehabilitation of the building and for the drafting of the technical project.
Specifically, the Council has created a new allocation of €500,000 for the full rehabilitation of the building, an amount that adds to the €1.5 million previously provided by the Diputación de Salamanca.
Likewise, the City Council has decided to increase by €126,000 –up to a total of €226,000– the allocation dedicated to the drafting of the technical project and the direction of works for the future refurbishment of the building.
With these new contributions, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to the recovery and modernisation of disused public spaces, backing a project expected to be strategic for the social, economic and cultural development of the town.
The CIS La Estrella aims to become a reference point for innovation, citizen participation and entrepreneurship in the region (La Raya, the Spanish-Portuguese border area), highlighting the value of a historic building and giving it new purpose in service of the community.
