The Junta de Castilla y León has opened the call for the 2025 Socioeconomic Plan for La Raya (the border region between Spain and Portugal), a direct grant of 15,000 euros aimed at individuals wishing to start a business in the municipalities located in the La Raya area, on the border with Portugal. This measure seeks to boost self-employment, encourage local economic activity, and help combat depopulation.
Applications may be submitted until 30 September 2026. To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be registered as jobseekers before enrolling in Social Security or a mutual insurance scheme, and must demonstrate a minimum investment of 5,000 euros (excluding VAT) in expenses related to starting the business activity.
