The Ciudad Rodrigo Town Council was the setting for a meeting attended by Marcos Iglesias, mayor of Ciudad Rodrigo; José Fernández, mayor of Puebla de Sanabria; and Javier Carrera, mayor of La Bañeza. During the meeting, the foundations were laid for a structural project aimed at fostering the development of these three towns and their surrounding areas.
The project includes the creation of the Social Innovation Centres for Sustainable Local Development (CIS-DLS), an initiative that began taking shape more than two years ago under the Directorate General for External Action of the Junta de Castilla y León, with the aim of promoting regional development in the border area with Portugal.
