FORT_COOK

FORT_COOK is a cross-border cooperation project between Ciudad Rodrigo and Almeida that aims to promote training, gastronomy, innovation and entrepreneurship as tools for employment, economic development and revitalisation of the La Raya territory.

The project brings together the Consorcio Transfronterizo de Ciudades Amuralladas, as the main beneficiary, the Ayuntamiento de Ciudad Rodrigo and the Município de Almeida, and runs until 2028 under the Interreg VI-A Spain–Portugal Programme (POCTEP) 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Union.

Its main actions include the launch in Ciudad Rodrigo of the Escuela de Hostelería de la Raya, the creation of a Ruta Gastronómica Rayana, the development of training actions for professionals in the sector and the creation in Almeida of a Food Fab Lab focused on gastronomic innovation, entrepreneurship and the enhancement of local products.

The main expected results include strengthening skills and employability, improving the competitiveness of the hotel and gastronomy sector, enhancing the value of shared gastronomic heritage and consolidating new cooperation networks between professionals, companies, training centres and institutions on both sides of the border.
