CIS CIT La Estrella took part in Valladolid in a results presentation meeting for the Castilla y León 2025 Social Projects Call by Fundación "la Caixa", alongside the rest of the entities selected in the rural line—a total of six organisations—. This gathering served as a space for exchange to review the progress of the projects and share how their implementation is unfolding across the territory. Representing CIS CIT La Estrella was Julio Náger, social innovation officer.
During the day, the commitment of social entities to people in vulnerable situations was highlighted, particularly in rural areas. In this regard, the deputy director general of the Social Area of Fundación "la Caixa", Marc Simón, stressed that «our commitment to people facing difficulties or in situations of vulnerability is firm and sustained over time. We stand by their side through our own programmes and through the Social Projects Call Programme, which for more than 25 years has continuously supported initiatives by social entities across all autonomous communities».
The Castilla y León 2025 Social Projects Call has selected a total of 56 projects in the region, with an investment of over 1.7 million euros. This funding will help strengthen the action of the social third sector and support more than 14,900 people in vulnerable situations across the region.
In rural areas, the call has allocated over 570,000 euros in funding for the next three years, aimed at boosting projects in municipalities such as Astorga and La Bañeza (León), Béjar and Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca), Medina del Campo (Valladolid) and Benavente (Zamora). These initiatives aim to tackle the specific challenges of rural areas, particularly the demographic challenge and the fight against depopulation.
Representatives from social entities in the province of Salamanca, whose projects have been selected under this rural social action line, also took part in the event, sharing their experience and perspective on the impact of these initiatives.
The projects included in this call have a three-year implementation period and are aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, employment, health, social cohesion, the settlement of new residents, and community engagement in rural areas.
