The “Cine Vecino” programme, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, aims to facilitate access to film screenings in small municipalities and rural areas, promoting a stable and accessible cultural offer across the territory.
The initiative is aimed at:
- Town councils of municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants
- Associations located in these municipalities
- Groupings of local entities
Selected entities will be able to access, free of charge, for two years, a biannual catalogue of approximately 100 film titles through a public digital platform. The programme will include independent, documentary, experimental and auteur cinema.
“Cine Vecino” seeks to bring audiovisual culture closer to areas with less access to cinemas and to contribute to cultural dynamism, social cohesion and rootedness in rural areas.
