The mayor of Ciudad Rodrigo, Marcos Iglesias, attended the presentation of the Socioeconomic Plan for La Raya.
The President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, unveiled the initiative in the Zamora town of Fermoselle, which will involve an investment of over €90 million and will run for six years. This plan is designed to foster balanced economic growth, strengthen territorial cohesion, promote population settlement, improve the results of cross-border cooperation, and position the region as a dynamic and innovative territory.
With a comprehensive approach, the plan will benefit more than 62,000 residents across 175 municipalities in the provinces of Zamora and Salamanca, covering natural regions such as Sanabria, La Carballeda, Aliste, Sayago, Vitigudino, and Ciudad Rodrigo.
The regional Government is committing €78.7 million, while the provincial councils of Salamanca and Zamora will each contribute €6 million. This project reflects the joint effort towards sustainable development and improving the quality of life for residents of these regions.
