The Fundación Ciudad Rodrigo 2006 project has been presented by Julio Nager, Social Innovation Agent of the Diputación de Salamanca, within the framework of the call “Acción Social en el Ámbito Rural” launched by Fundación “la Caixa”.
The initiative proposes a comprehensive response to the demographic challenge through two main pillars: the digitalisation of rural communities and the creation of a space for social entrepreneurship. Planned actions include the implementation of the AMALia platform for the tourism and cultural promotion of the municipalities, artificial intelligence training workshops aimed at young people, women and older people, visibility campaigns, digital neighbourhood networks and events to revive traditional trades.
The second pillar involves launching an incubator at the Centro de Innovación Social “La Estrella” that will support the development of 20 social entrepreneurship projects between 2026 and 2027, with special attention to groups in vulnerable situations.
